About Amanda
Hi, my name is Amanda Sargent and I am currently a BCBA here at the center. I obtained my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Millersville University, and graduated magna cum laude from Arcadia University with a Master’s degree in Special Education along with an additional graduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis.
I began my career in the field of developmental disabilities with a local school district as a 1:1 paraprofessional working in both learning and autistic support classrooms. I moved on to provide residential case management for adults with disabilities and mental health disorders. Upon completion of my Master’s degree I entered the field of applied behavior analysis as an ABA therapist. As an ABA therapist I provided supports in home, school and center based environments and implemented behavior programs focusing on a vast array of needs. As a BCBA, my professional interests range from verbal behavior therapy, to feeding and potty training, to social skills development.
Along with my professional experience, my personal experience with a younger sister with cerebral palsy and intellectual disabilities also gives me a unique family perspective and is the drive behind my passion in this field of work. I am very proud to be part of this great team of professionals all working together with the shared goal of empowering the children and I look forward to growing with them.
